No Ships Docked at Shanghai Port for Days, China's Foreign Trade Data Falsified
The data shows that the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) peaked at 5109.6 USD on January 7, 2022, then rapidly declined for 14 consecutive months, falling to a low of 906.6 USD on March 10th this year, a decrease of 82%. Although there have been minor fluctuations since, the latest figure on June 16 was 934.3 USD, down nearly 5% from the previous week.
Despite this, the current situation may be more serious than what the official figures reflect. This veteran international maritime merchant indicates that the shipping industry has doubts about the officially published data, believing there is a discrepancy with the actual market situation. For example, the actual freight price in the market has been falling, but the Baltic Index presented by the official data is rising.

Corresponding to the quietness at the port, China's foreign trade companies are widely lamenting their plight. Many foreign-owned enterprises and large contract manufacturers have been moving their production capacity to countries like Southeast Asia and India. Even the more established domestic companies in China have started building factories in Southeast Asia. With this shift in production capacity, some smaller foreign trade enterprises in China have gone out of business due to lack of orders, others are struggling to stay afloat, and some bosses are even praying for orders. Regions with a concentration of foreign trade companies, like the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, are experiencing large-scale unemployment.

Capacity at Tesla's Shanghai factory has been increasing rapidly recently, with Y production already reaching 1000 units per day, and the factory's parking area apparently unable to accommodate the new cars. I decided to come back the next day to film the Shanghai factory as I had run out of batteries today.
On the afternoon of the 21st at the Luchao Port dock in Shanghai, at this point the site full of Tesla's had lost sight of a few cars, the drone followed the Tesla's that were quickly leaving the car park, on the bridge where the Tesla drove across the road leading to the sea, there was a long queue of Tesla's parked on the bridge, apparently this was waiting to be loaded onto the ship; when the Tesla drove to the ship dock, it pulled into a square of Tesla's, a closer look at all the Tesla Model 3's. It was clear from the scene that a large number of Model 3's had already been loaded onto the ship in the morning.
The cargo ship, flying the Panamanian flag, is called TRITON ACE and the information on the ship's website shows that it will arrive at its next destination on 28 August: Singapore.
